lawer almost shit his pants when i showed him 47k all in cash withdraws over the last 10 months, no purchases just credit card checks written out to cash and atm withdraws from vegas and local card house.

The kicker of our meeting was when i told him before he processes the papers give me a chance to pull out another 5k to pay his fee and the $2500 i lost to johney on sunday. He almost came across his desk to hit me saying it would be viewed as fraud.

anyway he said i will pay what the judge thinks i can afford each month for 60 months probaly totaling 18-20. beats the fuck out of paying the minimum on 6 cards for the rest of my life.

sounds like you have a gambling problem, you need to go to gamblers anonymous. I hope your debtors make you pay the whole balance you owe them

No big deal. The first time Donald Trump declared bankruptcy he was something like 900 million in debt.

Here is something he said after the Trump casinos declared bankruptcy:
"I don’t think it’s a failure, it’s a success. In this case, it was just something that worked better than other alternatives. It’s really just a technical thing, but it came together.”“We have one of the most powerful gaming companies the day it comes out (of bankruptcy). There’s no way we could have done that without the ’B’ word,” he said.

See it's just a technical thing. But damn get rid of those credit cards.

Why would you file Chapter 13 and not Chapter 7??

Actually, in terms of your credit score, they both mean about the same thing

Donald Trump also had talent and a degree from Wharton. I'm not sure we can say the same for our oreo-chewing friend.

It has been a few years since I learned all this crap...i don't even know the diff between 11, 12, 13 and 7.....

but wasn't there some provision that if you take excessive money (esp credit) shortly before the bankruptcy, they don't forgive shit of that amount....i think they go back like 6 or 18 months?

Well I have never actually heard of that rule. But it probably is a good rule.

Otherwise, people can just pile up $250,000 in credit card bills and just file bankruptcy even if they make $100,000 a year. That much debt along with a house payment and 2 car payments would be next to impossible for most people to pay even if they make $100,000 a year.

But it does protect the system a bit.

You can take out that $5000, AS long as you take it out before he files the papers. Likewise, he needs to include that in the original amount

Now that I think about it, there probably is a rule in place for Chapter 7. But I find it REAL hard to believe that it is that small amount of gross income per year.

I would think that the number would be closer to $300,000 or so. I will look it up on the net though
